“You Can’t Outrun the Long Arm of the Law: New Jersey Fall 2019 Legal Update”
Speakers: Cynthia L. Flanagan, Esq. and Joseph Maddaloni, Jr., Esq. of Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP

Do your hiring and pay practices comply with New Jersey’s ever-changing employment laws?  Probably not.  New Jersey is adopting new employee protection laws at a seemingly rapid pace—and the penalties for even an unintended violation are significant.  From interviewing limitations, equal pay analysis, wage theft law and new family leave laws, this program will give an update on the new laws affecting all stages of the employee life cycle at your business.

Cynthia L. Flanagan, Esq. is a Partner at Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP and co-chair of its Labor and Employment practice group.  Ms. Flanagan represents management in business and employment litigation and provides counseling on employment matters including termination, harassment, discrimination, restrictive covenants and developing policies and procedures.  Ms. Flanagan also litigates on behalf of her clients and has successfully defended employers in lengthy employment discrimination trials.

Joseph Maddaloni, Jr., Esq., Partner at Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP and co-chair of its Labor and Employment practice group, is a former general counsel for an international service company who concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment law, commercial law and regulatory and government affairs.  Mr. Maddaloni is a seasoned traditional labor lawyer who counsels and represents clients on labor matters, including union avoidance techniques, organizing campaign strategy, contract negotiation and administration.  He also assists in resolving unfair labor practice charges.  Mr. Maddaloni represents management in general employment litigation and counseling matters concerning discharge, discrimination and harassment, non-compete and restrictive covenants, wage and hour, severance and separation agreements, disciplinary actions and the development of policies and procedures.  He also handles general commercial litigation and counseling concerning contract disputes, lease agreements and sale of goods.
