NJALA Concludes its 2010-11 business year with a "Casino Night"

The New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators concluded its 2010-11 business year on June 9, 2011, with a "Casino Night" social at the Rock Spring Golf Club in West Orange. As part of the evening's festivities, the 2010-11 board of trustees was recognized for its service to the organization, and the newly elected board was installed. On May 10, 2011, at The Manor in West Orange, the New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators held its annual Managing Partner Event, to which members were accompanied by their managing partner, or another firm partner. This year's event featured John Remsen of Atlanta's The Remsen Group, touted as one of the nation's most recognized authorities in the field of law firm marketing. Topics included: the skyrocketing costs of IT; email and document storage issues; affordable disaster recovery options; remote access solutions; and the compatibility of software packages with your system. The New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators attended their monthly meeting on January 31st at the Highlawn Pavilion. Galit Kierkut, Esq., of Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis, and Randi Kochman, Esq., of Cole Schotz Meisel Forman & Leonard presented "Social Media Usage: Employer Risks and Solutions." The presentation reviewed some of today's social networking sites, and the legal problems that the usage of these sites by law firm employees may present for the firm. The workshop addressed ways that HR professionals can make meaningful contributions to the financial condition of their organizations, and also reviewed interpretation of financial statements.
