Panel Discussion: Led by Ken BaileyPanelists: Doreen Formato, Michael Sikora, & James Wostbrock Location: The Highlawn Pavilion
Ken Bailey will lead this panel presentation. Each member of the panel will present a different topic. All of the panelists are members of NJALA and are experienced legal administrators. They will share their financial expertise with the Chapter and will focus on specific topics that are relevant for small, medium and large firms such as:
What can be done to improve collections and cash flow inour current, volatile economy? and What tools can we use to measure "financial success"?
Our panelists will discuss budgets and projections, trust accounting, fixed and variable expenses, and financial statements. Questions from Chapter members will be encouraged and welcomed to make this presentation interactive and lively.
Join us on February 9th as our panelists discuss relevant accounting and financial issues that we all face as law firm administers. About the presenters Kenneth Bailey started his career at Price Waterhouse in New York City. He then moved into the legal field with an eight year "interruption" while he served as the Controller of the National Basketball Association. Kenis currently the Administrator at Fishman McIntyre in East Hanover. Ken hasbeen a member of ALA for over 22 years. He is a past president of NJALA and has spoken on disaster preparation at a number of chapters as well as at ALA's national conference. Ken received his BS and MBA from Long Island University. Doreen Formato has been working with law firms in various management roles since 1984. She is currently the Executive Director at Schwartz Simon Edelstein Celso & Zitomer located in Morristown, NJ. Doreen attended Bloomfield College where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Michael Sikora has been working in the accounting/finance area for over 30 years with experience in retail, manufacturing, non-profit and for the last 10 years in the legal field. He is the Director of Finance and the Co-Administrator at Hoagland Longo Moral Dunst & Doukas in New Brunswick. Mike has been a member of ALA for the last 9 years; served as a member of the NJALA Board for 5 years; was Chairman the Salary Survey Committee and currently serves as the NJALA Chapter's auditor. Mike received his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Montclair State University and his MBA in accounting and taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. James Wostbrock started his career in public accounting. He has also worked in various other service areas as well as for a manufacturing company before spending his last 15 years in various law firms in New York and New Jersey. Jim is the Director of Finance at Landman Corsi Ballaine & Ford in Newark. Jim received a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Rutgers University. Jim has been a member of ALA since 2002. |
